HOW TO...

Do you have leftover auction items or fixed price packages that didn't sell at your event? If you're a Fundraising Suite customer, then it's not too late. After your event, your Giving Center will be back online and available for you to continue selling and collecting payments.

ACCEPT DONATIONS

To make sure your Donation package is back online to for those who want to give more after the event, follow these steps:

Go to Setup > Auction Control and set the Donation End Time in the future.

Go to Setup > Giving Center > Enabled Features and make sure "Online Money Donations" is checked.

Go to Packages > Manage Packages > Visibility tab and make sure your donation package is not expired (i.e. has an Override End Time in the past), and that the "Show in Giving Center" and "Enable Online Bidding" boxes are checked.

If you have not yet done so, re-publish your Giving Center site so it is visible to the public by going to Setup > Giving Center > General Settings and checking the "Publish Giving Center" box.


SELL FIXED PRICE (Sign up Parties, Merchandise, etc.)

To fill up open spaces on your sign-up parties and sell remaining merchandise online, follow these steps:

Go to Setup > Auction Control and set the Fixed Price End Time in the future.

Go to Setup > Giving Center > Enabled Features and make sure "Auction Catalog" and "Online Bidding and Purchasing" are checked.

Go to each of your available Fixed Price packages under Packages > Manage Packages > Visibility tab and make sure the package is not expired (i.e. has an Override End Time in the past), and that the "Show in Giving Center" and "Enable Online Bidding" boxes are checked.

If the Fixed Price package should no longer be available for purchase, uncheck those settings to hide the package from Giving Center visitors.

If you have not yet done so, re-publish your Giving Center site so it is visible to the public by going to Setup > Giving Center > General Settings and checking the "Publish Giving Center" box.


ALLOW SILENT AUCTION BIDDING

To sell unsold Silent Auction items (at discounted prices, if desired), follow these steps: 

Log into your myBidPal Planner and navigate to Tools > Firesale Wizard

A list of unsold packages will be displayed. Select which packages you want to sell post-event by checking the appropriate boxes.

Decide how much you want to discount the prices and enter that as a percentage in the "Discount By" field. If you are not applying a discount, leave this field at 0%.

NOTE: The "Discount By" percentage will reduce your starting bids and minimum raises by the percentage you entered. For example, a starting bid of $100 discounted by 15% will be reduced to $85. The original Value of the package will remain intact.

Set the New Start Time & New End Time for when your Firesale begins and ends. Packages will not be able to be bid on until the New Start Time begins, and will be closed again for bidding once the New End Time passes.

Re-publish your Giving Center site so it is visible to the public by going to Setup > Giving Center > General Settings and checking the "Publish Giving Center" box.

Update your supporters by posting your Giving Center website URL link on Facebook, Twitter, your own website, and via email.

Tip! Not all packages have to be discounted by the same percentage or open for bidding for the same number of days. Run the Firesale Wizard as many times as desired to set different discount percentages or time ranges for different groups of packages.

Please Note: Giving Center guests who donate money, purchase a fixed price item, or use the Buy Now option on a silent auction item will have their credit card charged immediately for the balance due. For re-opened silent auction items that are won via bidding, you will see a Pending Transaction toward the guest's credit card in Planner. These can be processed under Payments > Manage Payments > Pending Transactions tab whenever you are ready. 


COLLECT PAYMENTS

Any guest who didn't pay at your event can be encouraged to go to your Giving Center, click the REGISTER button and register themselves and their credit card.

If the email the guest uses to register is already linked to a supporter in your Planner site, their registration and credit card will automatically link to that existing unpaid supporter, allowing you to effortlessly process a payment for their balance.

If the email the guest uses to register is NOT linked to a supporter in your Planner site, their registration will create a duplicate Supporter that you can merge with their unpaid Supporter so you can pay their balance.

 

Tip! Use your Giving Center's Home Page HTML to give users easy instructions for entering their credit card.  For example:

"If you're new to the Giving Center, click "Register" on the top right of the screen to get set up. After you've filled out the required info and saved, click "Register Your Credit Card" to add a card to pay off your balance!"
