WHAT IS THE FRIENDLY URL?
Your BidPal friendly URL is a way to communicate your mobile auction across multiple platforms, including email blasts and social media. Bidders use this link to access your auction no matter what type of device they are using. The key is that it's short and sweet so that volunteers can easily share it with guests at the event. The same link can be used in email campaigns and advertised on event signage to instruct guests how to log into BidPal themselves.
BEFORE & AFTER THE EVENT...
DURING THE EVENT...
|Guests enter the friendly URL on their computers and tablets and are directed to the Giving Center. This is ideal for pre-event bidding and ticket sales a post-event fire-sale.||
If using BidPal's mobile bidding solution, event guests use the same link on their smartphones to log into the mobile auction.
Pick a friendly name that represents your organization or event. Examples: XYZGala, barnparty, denimbash, or RFB (for Reifeis Food Bank).
Enter your custom name in myBidPal Planner > Setup > Preferences > Event and click Save.
The friendly name is added to the end of http://www.bidpal.net/ to form your friendly URL, such as http://www.bidpal.net/friendlyname.
NOTE: Your friendly name can be up to 40 characters in length. Do not enter the "http://www.bidpal.net/" portion. Friendly URLs are not case-sensitive, so XYZFOUNDATION is the same link as xyzfoundation. You may only use letters and numbers.
START BIDDING CARDS
We recommend obtaining as many of your attendees' mobile phone numbers as possible so they can receive an initial One-Click Login text and start bidding immediately. To speed up the process for those guests whose numbers you do not have, consider printing out BidPal's Start Bidding Cards, located under Reports > View Reports > Auction. These cards will list out instructions for accessing the mobile auction via your friendly URL.
