Apply package defaults Print Article

INTRODUCTION

With BidPal, you have the ability to set default Starting Bids, Minimum Raises & Buy Now Prices based on a percentage of package value. Set up your package defaults before importing or manually entering your silent auction packages to have them automatically populate based on your settings.

HOW TO...

In myBidPal Planner, go to Packages > Set Package Defaults.PackageDefaultsPage

Check the box next to Set Starting Bid to automatically apply starting bids to all of your packages.

Tip! We recommend that you have your starting bids begin at 40-50% of the package’s value, rounding to the nearest $5.

Check the box next to Set Minimum Raise to automatically apply minimum raises to all of your packages.

Tip! We recommend that you have your minimum raises begin at 10-15% of the package’s value, rounding to the nearest $5.

Check the box next to Set Buy Now to automatically apply buy now prices to all of your packages.

Tip! If you decide to use the buy now option, we recommend setting it at 150-200% of the package’s value, rounding to the nearest $5. If you decide you don’t want to use the Buy Now feature, check the Disable Buy Now box instead.

You can override your defaults on specific packages in the Package Edit screen by unchecking the box next to Apply Package Defaults (see screenshot).

NOTE: If you have a package that has a value of $0, the system cannot calculate starting bids and minimum raises. Therefore, you will need to set that information manually.
