BidPal One:

  • Custom Pages can now be viewed and edited in Planner, even when they are not yet enabled - this allows you to start and edit a page before deciding to make it live!
  • Custom Links that direct to internal BidPal pages (like a link to a specific package) now open inside of the BidPal site instead of opening a new tab
  • Added a BidPal footer to the bottom of fundraiser pages

Miscellaneous fixes:

  • Corrected caching issue that could cause countdown clock on Scoreboards to not update properly
  • Resolved issue that could cause two tickets to be assigned to the same supporter

BidPal One:

  • Revamped Sign In workflow
    • Supporters no longer need to remember whether they have an account or not - just click SIGN IN and choose email, Facebook, or Google, and the system will figure out whether or not you're a new BidPal user!
    • Added fixed FINISH button to the final contact info step so less scrolling is required
  • Preview & Publish re-introduced
    • Remember to add your friendly URL under Setup > Preferences > Event and your payment processing credentials under Payments > Setup Payments!
    • Leave unpublished until you are ready for your site to be live to the public
  • Bid Clerk option added to Go page
    • Trusted staff/volunteers can access this tool by entering the Event PIN
    • Allows lookup of supporters by name or Bidder # in order to bypass login creation and place proxy bids/donations/purchases for guests who either can't receive the One-Click Login hyperlink via text/email or who didn't bring a device

Miscellaneous fixes:

  • Allow text on Welcome and Additional custom pages to be selected and copied
  • Fixed date/time stamps in Planner that were incorrect time zone
  • Resolved issue with Setup > Fundraiser not loading properly in Microsoft Edge
  • Emailed Receipts show sales tax
  • Package Default photo under Setup > Preferences now applies correctly to any package without an individual photo uploaded

      • Have credit card on file
  • User experience improvements:
    • Previously, if a non-logged in user made a donation or purchase, the workflow would prompt them to Sign In, but would not return them to their donation/purchase to complete it.

BidPal One:

  • Support for non-payments events
  • Added a "Require Payment upon Purchase" toggle
    • When enabled, supporters are required to pay immediately via credit card for all donations, Buy Now, or fixed price purchases made via the BidPal One fundraiser
      • NOTE: When Silent Auction packages end, winners are not automatically charged; instead, their balance is updated with a "Pending" payment to the credit card on file.
    • Ideal for online only fundraisers or the pre-event period to ensure payments are processed in real-time
    • During an onsite event, the setting may be disabled in order to allow supporters to donate and make purchases without immediate payment; this way they can pay in a single transaction with any silent/live auction winnings at checkout
    • Check out our Payment Settings article for more best practices!

BidPal One (Limited Release Only): #newsworthy

BidPal One is now in limited release! This means that while new features are still being built every day, we're ready for more customers to start using this exciting new interface! Consultants will reach out to candidates throughout the summer to discuss upgrading before BidPal One becomes generally available in the fall. Click here for a sneak peek at some highlights (including mobile ticketing)!

Ticketing:

  • Simplified accordion-style workflow steps supporters through the purchasing process
  • Can keep ticket purchases enabled on mobile devices up through and including event day, if desired!
  • No longer show “Unlimited” text if ticket packages do not have a set limit
  • No longer show promo code prompt unless you have actually set up active promo codes in the system
  • Can enter promo codes earlier in the process so that if your balance is $0 after applying a code, you do not have to enter a credit card
  • Continue to show "Sold Out" ticket packages to encourage supporters to make their purchase earlier next time (if desired, any ticket package can be manually hidden as well)
  • Order Summary always visible on laptops and tablets
  • As with other fundraiser menu pages, "Purchase Tickets" can be renamed as you see fit

Beta customers (invitation-only - general release slated for later this year) can now use our new unified bidding platform, offering familiar BidPal functionality (silent/live auction, donations, fixed price purchases) in one updated, mobile-responsive interface. Other highlights:

  • No more switching from Giving Center pre-event to the mobile auction interface during the event
  • Improved bidding experience that is consistent regardless of device

    • Users are required to search or can click Enter/Search to load all supporters
    • Results display much more quickly, especially for events with thousands of supporters

Ticketing updates - New Promo Codes feature:

  • Organizations can now set up one or more Discount / Promo Codes in Planner that ticket purchasers can use to receive a discount on their tickets. #newsworthy
    • Set up in Planner under Tickets > Setup Tickets > Discount/Promo Codes tab
    • Create multiple promo codes, each with customized code name (ex. VIP2016 or EARLYBIRD)
    • Choose a fixed amount or percentage discount (ex. $25 off or 10% off)
    • Choose which promo codes are applied to which ticket packages
    • Option to set an overall limit per code (ex. codes works on first 25 uses), or leave unlimited
    • Option to Limit each code to one use per user (based on email), or not
    • Option to preset the start/end time when each code is available, or have them always available
    • Guests enter applicable promo code(s) when buying tickets in Giving Center or selling tickets in Planner (multiple codes can be used on a purchase)
